UX design shapes our world and creates seamless human-to-technology integrations that when properly designed provides meaningful and relevant experiences to users.
Below are two examples of UX design: Awearables Jewelry and a public space redesign Southern Sun.
Awearables Jewelry
PROBLEM: Create a new product with a user-centered design.

SOLUTION: Design and build a habit-reminding device that does not need to be tethered to a smartphone to function. Awearables Jewelry is a concept that allowed a piece of everyday, beautiful jewelry to be transformed into a haptic feedback device to help users remember to meditate, take walking breaks or drink water - all scenarios where the user does not want to be tied to their device.

RESEARCH: After interviewing numerous people in 19-35 age range, it was discovered that people want a device that gives them a friendly reminder to complete a task, but they don't want to be any more reliant on their smartphones than they already are. Gentle haptic feedback was a more desirable approach than audible tones according to the user feedback.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
1.      Is jewelry something you wear, and why/why not?
2.      Do you ever lose track of time during the day, or get lost in your work or what you're doing?
3.      Do you have any habits you'd like to break or start?
a.      How's your progress been with changing your habits?
4.      When would you wear jewelry?
5.      Have you ever used an app or anything similar to help with your habit(s)?

SKETCH: Drafted a multiple sketches where this device could prove useful, correcting bad posture as an example.
DESIGN: The device should be rather small, lightweight and comfortable enough to be worn all day without discomfort. The finalized version features a soft leather strap with laser-etched designs and a small pocket to house the electronics.

IMPLEMENTATION: A prototype was created as a proof of concept to test functionality. It was then given to users for feedback before making revisions.

EVALUATE: After getting user feedback the design was mostly successful with 70% of participates stating they could see themselves using the device on a daily basis.

Public Space Redesign

Location: Southern Sun Pub & Brewery in S. Boulder, CO
Goal: Create a free-flowing, comprehensive redesign of the restaurant space to create an environment that reflected the vibe of the eatery, it's customers and while designing for the functional needs of the restaurant, based off user feedback that was collected and analyzed to determine design improvements.
Methods: Visual observations, staff and customer interviews (gathering data from both emic and etic points-of-view), quantify user feedback.
