The goal for this project was to create a useful item that solves a problem.
PROBLEM
The fog machine pumping into a chameleon cage has a flow rate that is difficult to maintain at a consistent flow rate due to changing environmental conditions.
SOLUTION
Create a device that senses humidity in real-time and either cuts or provides power to the fog machine depending on the current humidity levels inside the cage. A Veiled Chameleon should have ideally 50% - 60% humidity levels at all times.
TECHNICAL
Using a DHT11 Humidity Sensor, 0.96" OLED display, a relay(PowerSwitch Tail II), an Arduino Uno, a few wires, some tubing, and 3D printing I was able to put it all together in a functioning package. It took a few print iterations to get the housing just right, but in the end everything came together flawlessly and the device works like a Champ!
